Hugh Jackman relists home with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness for USD 40 million as part of their divorce settlement

Hugh Jackman, the acclaimed Australian actor best known for his iconic role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, made a significant move to sever ties with his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness before making his relationship with Sutton Foster official at this week’s Met Gala.Just weeks before their red carpet debut, the 57-year-old quietly relisted one of the marital homes he once shared with Furness, signalling a clear step forward in the process of untangling their shared assets following their June 2025 divorce. According to a report by Daily Mail, the New York apartment was put back on the market on March 31, exactly one month before Jackman and Foster walked the Met Gala red carpet together for the first time.

Hugh Jackman’s Manhattan apartment: price, location and features

Originally listed at an eye-watering AUD 57.5 million in 2022, Jackman has since slashed the asking price by AUD 16 million. The property is now on the market for AUD 41.5 million, equivalent to approximately USD 28.75 million. According to property records, Jackman and Furness, purchased the apartment together back in 2008 for USD 21.1 million and still jointly own it. It is understood that the sale forms part of their divorce settlement.Located in Manhattan’s upscale West Village, the property spans the 8th, 9th and 10th floors of a 15-storey high-rise, covering 1,021 square metres. It offers sweeping views of the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The 10th floor hosts a luxurious main bedroom suite complete with a studio, spa bath, sauna and dressing rooms. The remaining levels feature generous living spaces, a library, a guest bedroom, a recreation room and a professional gourmet kitchen. Building amenities include a fitness centre, full-time doorman and concierge service.Furness, meanwhile, reportedly bought out Jackman’s stake in their other Manhattan property, an AUD 35 million three-bedroom penthouse the couple purchased together in 2022 for AUD 31.6 million. That property was not listed for sale but underwent a quiet ownership transfer as part of the same settlement process.

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s Met Gala debut

Jackman and Foster, who made their romance official in January 2025, looked every bit the couple at this year’s Met Gala. Jackman arrived in a black tuxedo with a velvet jacket and shiny dress shoes, his short brunette hair neatly pushed back. Foster complemented him in a glittering gold one-shoulder gown with a matching jewelled clutch. The pair were frequently caught sharing loving glances during their red carpet appearance, marking a notable contrast to Jackman’s solo appearance at the 2024 event and his absence from the 2025 Gala altogether amid his high-profile split from Furness.Social media users were quick to react to the photos, with many taking aim at Jackman over his choice of date. Comments ranged from calling the move disrespectful and classless to declarations of loyalty toward Furness, with one user writing, “Thumbs down, it’s forever team Debbie over here.”Jackman and Furness, who married in 1996, announced their separation in 2023 after 27 years of marriage, with their last joint Met Gala appearance taking place that same year.
