Criston Cole’s brutal demise in ‘House of the Dragon’

After cementing his character as one of the most detestable in the show, Criston Cole took his last breath on the battlefield. In episode 6 of season 3, the commander led his army even though they were largely outnumbered. Intending to die a warrior’s death, he was shot by an arrow three times, including one in his face. Gwayne Hightower abandoned him after learning of his promise to face death by doing the ‘righteous’ deed. Cole had even attempted to bring a truce to the fight by surrendering to Team Black; however, they wouldn’t let the golden opportunity of combat go? Upon his death, the team forged ahead to slaughter the men.

Fabien Frankel says about the trajectory of Criston Cole

“It does change as the course of the series goes on — as the third season goes on — it certainly takes turns,” Fabian Frankel, who plays Criston Cole, had said of his character’s trajectory in the third season, according to PEOPLE. He added, “He regained some sense of purpose, I think, [just] to have it struck down again.” “It would be hard for me to argue that he’s a good guy. Obviously, when you’re playing any character — good, bad — you’re trying to find the humanity,” Frankel had said ahead of the Season 3 premiere. ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 premiered on June 21, 2026, and will conclude on August 9, 2026. Episode 7 will release next week on JioHotstar.
