Shankar’s ‘Enthiran’ remains a landmark project in Indian science fiction. The film arrived in theatres 16 years ago and brought together Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a futuristic story.Aishwarya played Sana, who becomes closely connected with Rajinikanth’s two characters. The actor portrayed scientist Vaseegaran and his humanoid creation Chitti.

Aishwarya Rai remembers Rajinikanth’s humility

In an earlier interview with Hindustan Times, Aishwarya discussed her experience working with Rajinikanth. Despite his immense popularity, she recalled finding the superstar remarkably down-to-earth.The actress also spoke about his professionalism during the making of Enthiran.Aishwarya had said, “Rajini sir is so unassuming. He never cribbed about the long hours he had to spend on the sets owing to the technical detailing.”

Since Rajinikanth appeared as both Vaseegaran and Chitti, she was asked which version of the actor she enjoyed romancing more.Rather than choosing between the scientist and the robot, Aishwarya gave an answer that celebrated both characters. She described both versions as equally irresistible.The actress said, “I was spoilt for choice. Both the man and the machine were irresistible.”

Rajinikanth continues with major projects

Coming to the present, Rajinikanth continues to headline major projects. His upcoming film ‘Jailer 2’, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026.He is also set to star in ‘Dharman’, previously referred to as ‘Thalaivar 173’. Ashwath Marimuthu is directing the project, which is expected to release in 2027.
