Director Jude Anthany Joseph has addressed the speculation surrounding his shelved Hindi project with Ayushmann Khurrana. The filmmaker recently met the actor and used the occasion to clear up comments he had made about the film.Jude shared a picture with Ayushmann on social media. He explained that his earlier reference to Mohanlal was aimed at the producer involved in the project. It was not a comment directed at Ayushmann.“Wonderful catching up with Ayushmann today. Just to clarify, my Mohanlal Sir comment was about the producer and had nothing to do with him. Nothing but respect between us. Hope we get to work together soon!,” wrote the ‘Thudakkam’ director.

Ayushmann Khurrana was happy with Mohanlal script

Jude further explained that Ayushmann had liked the script developed for the proposed project. According to the filmmaker, the actor was not responsible for the film failing to take shape.“He was so happy with the Mohanlal sir script, and unfortunately it didn’t work out. It was definitely not his fault that it didn’t happen. But I’m genuinely happy that I got to meet an actor with so much talent and calibre. Hope we get to work together someday.”The director’s clarification came after his recent interaction with Club FM. Jude had spoken about the proposed Hindi project and revealed details about the circumstances that eventually led to it being dropped.

Ayushmann responded to Jude’s social media post with a message of his own. The actor expressed his appreciation for the director’s work via his comment on Jude’s post.He wrote, “I’m a fan of your work and I hope that I get the opportunity to work with you soon. I have the utmost respect for Mohanlal sir’s work. He is a legend. I hope I’m worthy enough to share screen space with him someday.”

Jude Anthany Joseph reveals why project was dropped

Jude had earlier said that the Hindi film had progressed substantially during its development. He had worked on the basic storyline before approaching a production house. The concept was then taken forward for discussions with the makers.The director said, “At that point, I put forward a demand to them. I told them that I could complete the script, but my condition was that Lal sir should be confirmed for the project.”According to Jude, the production house did not agree to that condition. The makers wanted to evaluate the completed screenplay before making decisions about the cast.

Jude said the response from the production team became a crucial point in the project’s development. He explained, “They responded by saying, ‘First, we need to like the script. Only then will we think about the secondary artists.'”The difference in expectations eventually resulted in the project not moving forward. Jude’s latest statement makes it clear that Ayushmann was not responsible for the film being shelved.Meanwhile, Jude Anthany Joseph’s new film ‘Thudakkam’, starring Vismaya Mohanlal in her debut, is getting good responses from the audiences.
