Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the first footage from Vision Quest, confirming that the highly anticipated Disney+ series will premiere on October 14.The series marks the return of Paul Bettany as Vision, after his appearance in the critically acclaimed series ‘WandaVision’. The upcoming series reporedly serves as the conclusion to the WandaVision trilogy, which began with the acclaimed 2021 series and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’. The new series picks up after the events of WandaVision and follows White Vision as he attempts to reclaim his identity, memories, sense of humanity and his son, whom he thought was ‘not real’.
Trailer teases Vision’s emotional journey
The trailer dropped online after its debut at D23. The clip with Vision being rebooted as he escapes from those who sought to weaponize him. Living in hiding, he searches for new meaning by consulting the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y, E.D.I.T.H, J.A.R.V.I.S and Ultron.His quiet existence is disrupted when a bounty is placed on his head, forcing him to flee with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.The first look at the series focused on the White Vision, the synthezoid who has regained Vision’s memories before departing, he did not experience those memories firsthand, leaving him with knowledge of a life he never truly lived. The footage reportedly shows Bettany’s character revisiting key moments from his past, watching Vision’s memories on a theatre screen.
Familiar faces join the cast
Alongside Bettany, the series features Todd Stashwick as Paladin, a morally ambiguous mercenary who reportedly targets Vision’s advanced technology. The show will also see Faran Tahir reprise his role as Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organisation first introduced in Marvel Studios’ 2008 film Iron Man. The character played a pivotal role in the events that launched the MCU and introduced Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark to audiences. The film also marks the return of James Spader as Ultron, the rogue AI system who takes shape in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.Vision Quest premieres exclusively on October 14.
