What happened aboard the Aravali Express?
According to a Sunday Guardian Live report, the alleged incident occurred between Borivali and Dahanu. The confrontation reportedly took place between around 9:30 pm and 10:50 pm.The FIR states that the dispute began after a passenger raised concerns about Antara Banerjee’s ticket. A request was reportedly made for her to vacate the reserved seat. Ticket collector Harikesh Tripathi and RPF personnel were then called to the coach.RPF assistant sub-inspector Yaminikant Mishra and constable Rajesh Kumar reportedly intervened. Police allege that the disagreement became more serious after Antara Banerjee allegedly used abusive language towards officials.According to the police account, she later allegedly produced a razor blade. Yaminikant Mishra was reportedly injured during the incident. Police also alleged that Antara Banerjee injured herself and attempted to break a coach window while trying to leave.She was eventually deboarded at Dahanu and handed over to the Government Railway Police. Borivali railway police took her into custody the following morning.The FIR was registered on August 13. The case includes allegations involving assault on public servants, causing harm, endangering safety and insulting officials. Antara Banerjee was later served a notice and released on bail.
