The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has announced the Round 1 seat allotment results for the Agriculture Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026-27. A total of 10,871 candidates have been allotted seats across nine professional undergraduate programmes offered by the state’s four agricultural universities and their affiliated colleges. The allotment comes after 23,803 candidates registered for the counselling process, of whom 18,993 completed the choice-filling exercise. Only candidates who submitted their preferences within the prescribed deadline were considered for the first round of allotment.
3,147 candidates get first-choice colleges
The Round 1 figures underline the competition for preferred colleges. Of the 18,993 candidates who filled their choices, 3,147 were allotted the college they had placed as their first preference. These candidates have been placed under the Auto Freeze category. This means they must accept the allotted seat if they wish to proceed with admission. Candidates who reject an Auto Freeze seat will not be permitted to participate in the second and third CAP rounds and will instead have to wait for later CAP or institutional-level admission opportunities.
Candidates must report to colleges by August 19
For candidates who have received an allotment, the next stage is not automatic admission. They must report physically to their allotted college between August 17 and August 19 for document verification and completion of admission formalities.Following verification by the institute, candidates have to log in to their CAP account and select the appropriate seat status option. They must also pay the prescribed Rs 1,000 admission acceptance fee.Candidates opting for Freeze will confirm their allotted seat. Those choosing Float can retain the current allotment while remaining eligible for subsequent CAP rounds, subject to the applicable rules. The second-round seat matrix is scheduled to be released on August 20, giving candidates who remain eligible another opportunity to improve their allotment.
