‘Vishwanath and Sons’ box office collections day 9 vs ‘DC’

Suriya and Mamitha Baiju’s ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ continued its theatrical run with a strong performance on its second Saturday. The family drama recorded an impressive rise in collections compared with the previous day.According to Sacnilk, the movie earned an estimated India net of Rs 7.25 crore on Day 9. It was screened across 3,007 shows. The Saturday collection was 61.1% higher than the Rs 4.50 crore net earned on Day 8.The latest numbers have taken ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ to an India net total of Rs 93.35 crore. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 107.97 crore. The movie had earned Rs 81.60 crore during its first week.

Worldwide gross crosses Rs 160 crore

‘Vishwanath and Sons’ added approximately Rs 2 crore to its overseas gross on Day 9. Its overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 52.25 crore. With the latest figures added, the movie’s worldwide gross stands at Rs 160.22 crore.The strong Saturday performance was also reflected in its show occupancy. The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 43.12%. Morning shows recorded 26.08%, while afternoon screenings reached 41.92%.Evening shows registered 45.15% occupancy. The figure climbed to 59.31% during the night. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 44.18%.

Tamil and Telugu versions show healthy occupancy

The Telugu version of ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ recorded 23.45% occupancy during morning shows. Afternoon screenings registered 34.45%. Evening occupancy increased to 48.91%, while night shows recorded 55.64%.The movie’s Day 9 India gross collection stood at Rs 8.45 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana emerged as a major contributor with Rs 3.25 crore. Tamil Nadu added Rs 3.50 crore to the day’s gross.Karnataka contributed Rs 1.40 crore. Kerala and the rest of India added Rs 15 lakh each. The combined figures took the movie’s total Day 9 India gross to Rs 8.45 crore.

‘DC’ also gains on third Saturday

Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi’s ‘DC’ also recorded an improvement in its theatrical earnings. The Tamil action movie earned an estimated India net of Rs 1.62 crore on Day 16.The collection came from 1,047 shows. It represents a 47.3% increase over the Rs 1.10 crore net earned on Day 15. The latest numbers have taken ‘DC’ to an India net total of Rs 64.21 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 73.94 crore. The movie’s second-week collection was Rs 19.59 crore.

‘DC’ worldwide gross nears Rs 96 crore

‘DC’ has continued to add to its overseas earnings. The movie has accumulated Rs 21.95 crore in overseas gross collections so far.Its worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 95.89 crore. The film also recorded improved occupancy across its Tamil and Telugu versions on Saturday.The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 44.22%. Morning shows recorded 25.85%, followed by 37.77% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy stood at 35.54%. Night shows recorded the highest figure at 50.46%.The Telugu version registered 38.26% overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 10.40%, while afternoon screenings stood at 21.80%. Evening shows reached 20.90%. Night occupancy climbed to 44.40%.‘DC’ collected Rs 1.18 crore from Tamil Nadu on Day 16. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 44 lakh.
