Emraan Hashmi‘s ‘Awarapan 2’ is having a moment both in theatres and off-screen, as videos from the film’s success party have put the spotlight on co-star Disha Patani. The 34-year-old actor was filmed dancing energetically to the popular track ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ at the celebration, and the clips have quickly gone viral online.
Disha Patani’s dance video goes viral
In the videos doing the rounds, Disha Patani can be seen taking over the dance floor to ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’, the song originally picturised on Katrina Kaif in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ (2010) and still remembered as one of her most iconic numbers. Guests at the party can be seen cheering and watching as Disha matched the track’s energy. For the evening, she opted for a halter-neck dress featuring a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit, paired with matching earrings, minimal makeup and her hair tied back in a bun.
‘Awarapan 2’s strong box office run
The success party comes as ‘Awarapan 2’ continues its impressive theatrical run. Made on a reported budget of Rs 45 crore, the film has delivered over 200 per cent profit and remained steady well past its opening week. It clashed with ‘Batwara 1947’ ahead of the Independence Day weekend and has since built a consistent collection graph, holding strong through its second weekend and clearing the crucial second Monday test.The film has now crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide, with a large share coming from India gross collections and the rest from overseas markets, according to Sacnilk.
Competition ahead for ‘Awarapan 2’
Despite its strong run, ‘Awarapan 2’ is now entering a tougher phase at the box office. While ‘Batwara 1947’ has failed to make a mark, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as a stronger competitor in its third week. Adding to the pressure, Yash-starrer ‘Toxic’ is expected to eat into screen counts, which could impact ‘Awarapan 2’s collections in the days ahead.Directed by Nitin Kakkar, ‘Awarapan 2’ also features Puran Gabbi, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky in key roles, alongside Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani.
