The actor is now part of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated ‘King’, where he is reportedly paired opposite Suhana Khan. In a recent conversation, Abhay opened up about the acting philosophy Shah Rukh shared with him while shooting for ‘King’ and recalled a heartwarming gesture from Abhishek Bachchan towards his mother on the sets of the Siddharth Anand directorial.

Abhay Verma calls Shah Rukh Khan his biggest source of inspiration

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Abhay revealed that he is sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and several other prominent actors in King. Describing the experience, he said there is a “temple” in his heart where all these people reside.Abhay singled out Shah Rukh as his biggest source of inspiration, crediting the superstar with making him dream bigger. For the young actor, getting the opportunity to work alongside the Bollywood icon has been more than just a professional milestone.Abhay also recalled a valuable piece of advice Shah Rukh gave him while they were shooting for King. He said, “Every word that comes off the legend’s mouth just becomes legendary. I had asked him, ‘How did you choose your early films?’, to which he said, ‘Although the times were different, just work with people who love you and who you love.’”Abhay added that the philosophy closely resonates with his own approach to acting. “I have taken my acting as democracy: to the people, by the people, for the people,” he said.The actor also observed that Shah Rukh often quietly sits in a corner on set, taking in everything around him without disturbing anyone.

Abhay also shared a memorable moment involving Abhishek Bachchan, who reportedly plays the antagonist in King. Recalling the actor’s warm gesture towards his family, Abhay said that he had mentioned his mother and other family members were waiting in his vanity van.He recalled, “One day he was getting ready, and I told him that my family is in my van, so whenever he had two minutes, if he could let me know, I’ll just bring them to him. He just stood up and walked to my van. He met my mom and said, ‘Hi, my name is Abhishek Bachchan and I’m working with your son in King.’”

Abhay Verma’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Abhay Verma is set to appear in ‘Laikey Laikaa’ alongside Rasha Thadani. He also has an untitled project with Shanaya Kapoor in the pipeline. Meanwhile, ‘King’, directed by Siddharth Anand, continues to generate considerable anticipation given its ensemble cast, which includes Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Abhay Verma.
