The actor wanted the space to feel removed from her professional life and instead serve as a peaceful retreat.“I may be an actor, but I didn’t want my posters and pictures splayed across the walls…I don’t even have a dresser with lights. I spend so much time in trailers that I needed this house to be my homely oasis. You won’t see the actor side of me here,” Kritika shared.The apartment had already been spacious, well-lit and conveniently located for her shoots and work commitments. Rather than moving into another home, Kritika wanted to refresh the existing space and make it feel more personal.“This is not my family home—my parents don’t live with me—and I know this is not a permanent house. For me, this is the house of my 30s. And that’s what I told Purva—I want this to be the house of my 30s,” she said.“I realised this place was spacious enough for me. It gets great light, it’s on a higher floor, and very conveniently located for all my shoots and offices. I didn’t want to move out of the house, but I wanted it to feel new—more like a home.”

The living room follows a beige and white colour palette, creating a calm and balanced atmosphere. Vintage-style furniture, a gold-framed console, textured artwork and a multicoloured rug add layers without making the space feel overly decorated.One of the most distinctive elements is a grid wall showcasing textiles from Cinnabar, the handloom label founded by Kritika during the lockdown. An existing window between the kitchen and dining area was expanded to create a more open connection between the two spaces. A subtle arch further softens the transition and creates a dedicated corner for morning coffee. Custom red and orange bar chairs add a striking pop of colour against the otherwise muted palette, while a bar cabinet provides additional storage for glassware and helps make the space functional as well as visually appealing.
Guest bedroom designed as a minimalist sanctuary
The guest bedroom maintains the apartment’s soothing aesthetic with a mint-blue wall and muted blue and green bedding. A geometric artwork adds visual interest while keeping the room uncluttered.
