He warned that prolonged drought could affect water supplies and agricultural production.The actor also raised concerns about fertilizers and other necessities becoming harder to obtain. He pointed out that money may not be enough if essential commodities themselves become scarce.“The time has come for us to save everything little by little,” Sunil Lahri said. He asked people to reduce their overall consumption by around 15-20%. His appeal covered several everyday necessities, including food, oil, petrol and diesel.

Maharashtra faces rainfall shortage

Sunil Lahri’s comments come amid concerns over drought and deficient rainfall in Maharashtra. The rainfall shortage has already affected agricultural activity across several parts of the state.Many regions have reported crop damage following inadequate rainfall. Maharashtra reportedly received around 19% less rainfall than its seasonal average between June and September. As many as 21 districts were also reported to have received deficient rainfall.Authorities in the state have stepped up water-conservation measures as concerns over availability continue.

While discussing the possibility of a future resource crisis, Sunil Lahri referred to the COVID-19 pandemic. He recalled how people managed to face the challenges posed by the pandemic.The actor said a similar approach could help people deal with another major crisis. He stressed that preparation should begin before shortages become more serious.“During COVID, we fought and came out without crying. In the same way, I am sure we will also come out of this disaster.It is not a matter of being scared; it is a matter of being smart. It is a matter of being careful. It is a warning. Therefore, we have to try to cut 15-20% in everything, including food, oil, petrol and diesel.”

Sunil Lahri asks people to act before crisis hits

Sunil Lahri further emphasized the importance of taking precautions at an early stage. He suggested that people should not wait for a major shortage before changing their consumption habits. He used the possibility of a fire as an analogy for the warning signs he believes are already visible.
