Navratri Grah Shanti: Which Devi to Worship for Weak Planets in Your Kundli
The celebration of Maa Durga’s nine forms during Navratri connects deeply with astrological influences on individuals. Each Divine Mother represents a planet, impacting personal tribulations and providing grah shanti. Through daily rituals, devotees can revive the energy of affected planets. Tailored offerings and prayers align with each day’s dedicated Devi, fostering resolution of personal issues tied to celestial bodies.

Most people pray to all nine forms of Maa Durga during Navratri without thinking about planets. But Vedic tradition sees a deeper link. Each Navdurga is believed to govern one of the nine grahas. So if a planet in your kundli is weak or troubling you, the day of its ruling Devi becomes a powerful time for grah shanti. No expensive havan is needed. Sincere worship on the right day is considered enough to start with.Different traditions pair the Devis and planets slightly differently. The connections below are the ones most widely followed.

How to Know Which Planet Is Weak

A planet is considered weak when it’s debilitated, combust or placed in a difficult house. Running the mahadasha or antardasha of a troubled planet also makes its effects stronger.Life gives clues too. Constant fights over property often point to Mars. Sleepless nights and mood swings can be linked with the Moon. Repeated delays in marriage are often traced to Jupiter or Venus.Once you know the planet, find its Devi below.

Surya (Sun): Maa Kushmanda

Day 4, Wednesday, 14 OctoberA weak Sun shows up as low confidence, a strained relationship with your father or trouble with government work. Maa Kushmanda is said to dwell inside the Sun and give it its light. This year, the Sun enters Tula, its sign of debilitation, on 17 October. So her worship carries special weight in 2026. Budh (Mercury): Maa Skandamata

So people running Rahu dasha may want to give her day extra attention. Offer coconut and chant “Om Devi Mahagauryai Namah.”

Ketu: Maa Siddhidatri

Day 9, Monday, 19 OctoberA troubled Ketu can make you feel detached, lost or unsure of your direction. Maa Siddhidatri, the giver of spiritual fulfilment, is worshipped on the final day. Offer til and chant “Om Devi Siddhidatryai Namah.”

A Simple Grah Shanti Method

On the day of your Devi, wake early and bathe. Light a ghee diya in front of her picture or idol. Offer the bhog mentioned above, along with flowers. Then chant her mantra 108 times using a rudraksha or tulsi mala. End by reading one chapter of the Durga Saptashati, or simply sit quietly for a few minutes with your prayer.Feeding a needy person on that day adds strength to the remedy.

When More Than One Planet Is Weak

Many kundlis have two or three troubled planets. You don’t need to pick just one. Give special attention on each Devi’s day, while continuing your regular Navratri worship. The Durga Saptashati is considered a complete remedy for all nine planets. Reading even the Argala Stotram or Kilak Stotram daily during Navratri is believed to bring overall grah shanti.
