‘Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next?’ AICWA questions Mumbai’s law and order after firing incidents involving Salman Khan, Rohit Shetty and others, says Bollywood is living in fear
Following the Juhu firing incident involving Tiger Shroff, AICWA has demanded strict action against those responsible and better security for Bollywood celebrities and their families.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has expressed shock over the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area, accusing the government and police of failing to adequately protect members of the film industry. The association has demanded strict action against the gangsters behind such attacks, including the arrest of the shooters and those who allegedly ordered the firing. In a statement shared on Sunday, AICWA claimed that Shroff narrowly escaped a potentially fatal attack and raised concerns over the safety of celebrities and their families. The incident has renewed questions about security in Mumbai after a series of attacks involving prominent personalities from the entertainment industry.According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg, Shroff was safe after unidentified individuals opened fire as he was leaving a private event at around 7 pm on Sunday. Two people, including the actor’s driver, were injured.

AICWA slams government over Tiger Shroff firing incident

Reacting to the incident, AICWA said the firing was part of a worrying pattern of attacks targeting members of the film fraternity. The association referred to previous incidents, including firing outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, the stabbing attack at Saif Ali Khan’s home, firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence and repeated attacks on comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe.“One after another, people from the film industry are being targeted, and a deliberate atmosphere of fear is being created. The intent is plain: gangsters want to terrorise Bollywood personalities and extort money from them,” the association said in its statement.AICWA questioned how ordinary citizens could feel safe if a prominent actor could be targeted in Mumbai. It also alleged that repeated incidents had exposed serious gaps in efforts to protect members of the entertainment industry.“Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next? When a celebrity is not safe in the heart of Mumbai, how can an ordinary Mumbaikar feel safe?” the association said.It further alleged that despite earlier incidents and claims of responsibility in some cases, criminal networks continued to pose a threat to film personalities.

‘Bollywood needs real protection,’ says AICWA

The association called for concrete security measures rather than assurances, warning that the situation was bringing back memories of Mumbai’s underworld era in the 1990s.“Statements are not enough. Bollywood needs real protection. Mumbai’s streets are once again being stained with blood, and the situation is reminiscent of the underworld era of the 1990s. The law-and-order situation in the city is a matter of grave concern. Today, it feels as if Bollywood is left to the mercy of God,” the statement read.AICWA added that Mumbai should not return to a period when the film industry operated under the shadow of organised crime.“Mumbai will not be allowed to go back to the underworld days of the 1990s. Bollywood will not work in the shadow of fear,” the association said. The statement also called on Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to intervene and ensure that those responsible for the attack were brought to justice.

AICWA demands arrests and security for film personalities

Among its demands, AICWA urged the state government and police to take the strictest possible action against the gangsters allegedly behind the attacks, arrest the shooters and those who ordered the firing, and dismantle extortion networks. The association also called for adequate security for film personalities and their families, accountability for repeated security failures, and measures to restore public confidence in Mumbai’s law-and-order situation. The firing incident has prompted renewed concern within the film industry over the safety of actors and other prominent personalities. However, the identities and motives of those responsible for the Juhu shooting have not been established in the information provided by police.
