According to a report by 123Telugu, Dushara Vijayan confirmed that the new film is being planned as a prequel.She said, “Sarpatta 2 shooting begins this month. I’m very excited. This one is going to be a prequel to the story, so even I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s going to shape up. Mariyamma is coming back. Sarpatta Part 1 was released on OTT due to COVID, but this one is going to have a proper theatrical release.”
