Salman Khan finally addressed the repeated postponements of ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’ at the film’s trailer launch event. The actor said the extra time went into VFX perfection and an unforeseen setback during production. He also dismissed rumours of government interference in the film’s content. The film is now set to release on 4 December.

Salman Khan on VFX: ‘Hum kisi ko mauka nahi dena chah rahe hai’

Explaining the delay, Salman Khan said audiences have become highly alert to visual effects. “Film ke deri ka yeh karan hai ke, aajkal hota hai na woh, VFX, har ek expert hogaya hai VFX me… Jaha vfx dala bhi nahi gaya hai, vaha par bhi dekhte hai ki yeh VFX ka shot acha nahi hua, acha hua.. wagera wagera… Yeh hum kisi ko mauka nahi dena chah rahe hai ki woh zoom in karke dekhe aur bole ki VFX mm hmm…”The film was shot in Ladakh, where he said VFX use would be limited. He added, “But we just want, yeh jab picture aaye, toh visually, it should blow everyone’s mind. And its a beautifully shot film.”

Chitrangda Singh’s accident added to the timeline

Salman also pointed to an incident involving co-star Chitrangda Singh. “You are right. Humko aisa laga tha ki hum yeh film kareeban 45-50 days me complete karlenge, par madam ke sath ek haadsa hogaya aur inke physiotherapy me kaafi time lag gaya, fir woh delay hogaya.”

Salman Khan rejects government interference rumours

The actor was firm in dismissing speculation that the film was altered under official pressure. “Naa ke hum China ke against jaa rahe hai…ya humari government ne hum pe pressure dala hai ke iska script change karo, rewrite karo…yeh sab bakwas hai. Not true at all.”He described the film as a human story about soldiers and their families. “Humne picture banaya hai soldiers ke upar ki unke families, what they go through, what soldiers go through. Woh side aur yeh side… So isme ko negative forces nahi hai. Bas halat hai negative. They like each other, but koi situation aata hai toh nation comes first, and both the sides are trying to solve this.”

Rs 11 tickets for senior citizens

Salman Khan also announced a special gesture for older audiences. “Humne 75 ke upar ke logo ka ticket rakha hai Rs 11.”

‘Maatrubhumi’ release date and the story behind the delays

‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace’ has seen its release shift several times. Salman Khan said the team had earlier planned to arrive around January or June, then moved to August, and the date kept moving after that. He now confirms the film will reach theatres on 4 December. With that, it will clash with Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’.The postponements also fuelled speculation that outside pressure was shaping the film.
