Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar‘s niece, marked her acting debut alongside Agastya Nanda in ‘Ikkis’, a film that had a decent run at the box office. She has now landed her second project, a romantic comedy opposite Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew. The film will be helmed by Adhiraj Bose, who previously worked as an assistant director on Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Ek Thi Daayan’. This will mark his feature film directorial debut, following several short films to his credit, including the Naseeruddin Shah-starrer ‘Interior Cafe Night’.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the upcoming rom-com featuring Simar and Roshan is expected to be an emotionally engaging, character-driven drama with a mix of quirky and cinematic touches. Their on-screen pairing is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the industry.Simar’s next film will be produced by Aayush Maheshwari under his banner, BLM Pictures, which has previously co-produced titles such as ‘Dhak Dhak’, ‘Loop Lapeta’ and ‘Yaariyan 2’. Reportedly, filming is expected to begin in November 2026, with the makers eyeing a theatrical release for the rom-com sometime in mid-2027.
