Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu, shared his thoughts on X as reports of the tragedy continued to emerge. The actor said that watching the devastation caused by the floods was heartbreaking and offered his prayers to everyone going through the difficult situation. “Heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by the floods in Nepal. My prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, everyone affected, and all those still waiting to be rescued. Praying for their safety and strength,” the actor wrote.
Nepal flood disaster leaves hundreds feared dead and many missing
According to Nakkheeran, the scale of destruction has been severe, with more than 200 people feared dead and over 1,000 others reportedly missing. Rescue and search operations are underway as authorities work to locate those trapped or swept away by the floods. Reports also suggest that several Indian tourists were in Nepal when the floods struck. Concerns have been raised over the safety of more than 100 Indians, including a group of travellers and pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who were reportedly visiting the country.
