Chadwick Boseman started from humble beginnings and was born on November 29, 1976, in Anderson, South Carolina. He grew up in a tight-knit and large family. His mother, Carolyn, was a nurse at the time, while his father, Leroy, worked at a textile factory and also managed his own upholstery business. He studied BFA at Howard University and later transitioned to acting after his time at the British American Dramatic Academy in Oxford. At one point at Howard, he was also mentored by acclaimed actress Phylicia Rashad.
