Diljit Dosanjh has made it clear that he will perform at his Indore concert on November 15, even though the show has run into security alarms and objections over his songs. The singer, who is bringing his AURA India Tour to the city, said he is determined to honour the promise he made to his fans.
Diljit Dosanjh sends a message to his Indore fans
Speaking about the controversies, the Punjabi star said he would reach the city on the scheduled date. He also gave a light-hearted mention to Indore’s famous street food.According to the NDTV report, he said, “I will visit Indore on 15th of November. I will have poha first after visiting Indore. Anyone can say anything, but I will meet you in Indore on 15th November. I have heard in the news that there will be some ‘sankat’. But we know how to handle this. Do they know who are we?”His comments come at a time when there is plenty of uncertainty around the show. Over the past few days, the concert has been linked with bomb threats, safety worries and an order to drop some songs from the setlist.
Bomb threat emails create tension in Indore
Earlier this week, three private schools and the office of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava got emails threatening a bomb blast on the day of the concert. The emails also advised schools not to send their students to the event.Bomb disposal teams checked all three school campuses, but no explosive material was found. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya said early findings indicated that the emails may be hoaxes. The crime branch is now studying technical evidence to trace who sent them.
Four songs under the scanner
The threats were not the only issue. On November 6, the District Child Protection Officer in Indore asked the management of C-21 Mall, the venue, to make sure Diljit does not perform four songs. These are ‘Patiala Pegg’, ‘5 Taara Theeke’, ‘Jeeb Vicho Labbiya’ and ‘Jatt Uthe Fire Karda Jithe Pabandi Hathiyara Di’.The direction came after a complaint by Chandigarh-based professor Dr Panditrao Dharennavar, who objected to lyrics that, according to him, promote liquor, drugs and weapons. The official letter also cited a 2019 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on songs that glorify intoxicants and violence. The venue has been told to follow these instructions.
Not the first time Diljit has faced hurdles
The situation in Indore is not new for the singer, who has had to deal with obstacles in other cities as well. His October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi was also in doubt after the Delhi Police first held back permission. The reasons given were security concerns and law-and-order arrangements during the festive period. The organisers then gave the police an updated security plan with extra steps for safety, traffic and crowd control. Once permission came through, the show went on as planned. Reports suggest around 2,000 security personnel were deployed, and a 700-metre no-car zone was set up around the venue. After the Delhi show, Diljit said some people had made strong attempts to stop the concert. He also thanked the police personnel who helped make sure it took place.
Bihar plans fall through
In a recent Instagram Live, the singer revealed that his plan to perform in Bihar did not work out. The reason was a disagreement over who would be responsible for managing the crowd. As per Diljit, officials expected him to handle the audience, while he felt this was a job for the administration.Recalling the talks, he said that controlling the crowd at a concert is a big task that needs a lot of planning on the ground. He compared it to arranging a huge event in Delhi.
Where will Diljit Dosanjh perform next?
The Indore show is part of the ongoing AURA India Tour 2026. The Indian leg began with the Delhi concert, and Indore is next on November 15. After that, the singer will perform in Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29, Lucknow on December 5, Chandigarh on December 12 and Kolkata on December 19.
