Emraan Hashmi is stepping back into the live-performance space after nearly two decades. The actor, who has been enjoying renewed attention following the theatrical success of ‘Awarapan 2’, is set to headline two Bollywood-themed events in the coming weeks. Hashmi will perform at The Emraan Era at Sunburn Union in Bengaluru on August 29, followed by an appearance at Quake Arena in Hyderabad on September 5, where he will share the stage with DJ Ganesh.According to Mid-Day, the actor has reportedly charged Rs. 2 crore for the two appearances. The gigs are expected to celebrate the music associated with some of his most popular films, while bringing his chart-topping songs to a live audience.

The Bengaluru event is expected to feature Emraan Hashmi performing to songs associated with films that played a major role in establishing his musical identity in Bollywood. The report stated that at the Sunburn Union event, Emraan will perform some of his biggest hits from films such as ‘Murder’ (2004), ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ (2005) and ‘Jannat’ (2008), songs that helped establish him as a household name.DJ Aerreo is also expected to join Hashmi at the Bengaluru event. His Hyderabad appearance, meanwhile, is expected to be shorter, with DJ Ganesh presenting remixes and mash-ups of the actor’s popular tracks. Notably, Hashmi’s return to the stage comes nearly 19 years after his last major live dance performance at the IIFA Awards in 2007.Hashmi’s music-led popularity has traditionally been closely associated with millennials, thanks to the soundtrack-driven success of films such as ‘Murder’, ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ and ‘Jannat’. However, his recent projects appear to have introduced him to a younger audience as well. The report also stated that Hashmi’s appearances in Aryan Khan’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ (2025) and ‘Awarapan 2’ have helped him find a new fan base among Gen Z. His stage return therefore arrives at an interesting point in his career, combining nostalgia around his biggest musical hits with renewed interest from a younger generation of viewers.
‘Awarapan 2’ success gives Emraan Hashmi another career high
The stage comeback comes at a time when Hashmi is enjoying one of the strongest commercial phases of his recent career. ‘Awarapan 2’, the direct sequel to the 2007 cult favourite, has emerged as a major theatrical success. According to Sacnilk, on Day 14, the film collected Rs. 0.60 crore net in India across 1,085 shows, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs. 144.25 crore. Its India gross collection has reached Rs. 171.90 crore. The film also added Rs. 0.25 crore from overseas markets on Day 14, taking its overseas gross to Rs 31.80 crore. Its worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs. 203.70 crore.
Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming projects
Following the success of ‘Awarapan 2’, Hashmi has several projects lined up. The actor will next be seen in ‘Gunmaaster G9’, directed by Aditya Datt and sharing screen space with Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana. The film is slated for a release on November 27, 2026.
