Nivin Pauly’s latest romance drama ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ also starring Mamitha Baiju has become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time minting more Rs 300 crore worldwide and leaving the 2025 Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lokah’ behind. Backed by renowned actor Fahadh Faasil, he recently shared his joy on seeing the film experience such box office glory and talked about choosing to produce “meaningful and fresh” films.
Fahadh Faasil reacts to ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ success
Speaking to Variety India, Fahadh expressed his happiness over the film’s success and credited the entire team. He said, “Thanks. I’m so happy, as it means a lot to Bhavana Studios, along with my partners Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran, and, majorly, to director Girish AD, Nivin Pauly, Mamitha Baiju and the entire team of the film.”The ‘Pushpa’ actor further said he was happy to see ‘BKU’ become the biggest hit for Bhavana Studios so far. He also spoke about the production house’s approach to films. “As a producer, I’m glad to see that ‘BKU’ worked big-time with audiences and that it is our biggest hit so far. At Bhavana Studios, we believe in choosing meaningful stories, supporting fresh ideas and giving the product the correct platform,” he said.
Fahadh praises Nivin Pauly and Girish AD
Fafa gave major credit to director Girish AD and actor Nivin Pauly. He praised the script and said several elements of the film worked well with the audience. He said, “I believe good and fresh content will always work. All credit goes to the entire team, especially director Girish AD and Nivin Pauly. What a wonderful, honest script — the age-gap romance, the packaging, the humor… everything landed perfectly.”He further shared that the film had the perfect release date during the Onam holidays.Speaking of ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, the film performed tremendously well overseas. According to trade analyst Sacnilk, it collected Rs 310.55 crore globally. In 26 days, the total net collection in India stands at Rs 149.90 crore.
Fahadh Faasil’s next films
Speaking of Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming work, he will mark his Telugu debut in a leading role with, ‘Don’t Trouble The Trouble’, a fantasy drama with Baby Sara Palekar. Directed by Shashank Yeleti it is presented by SS Rajamouli. The film is scheduled to release on October 2.He also has an untitled Tamil thriller with director Prem Kumar, known for ‘96’ and ‘Meiyazhagan’.
