French audience erupts in applause for SS Rajamouli's 'Eega' during Paris screening

SS Rajamouli is currently on a cinema tour across Europe, where some of his biggest films are being screened for international audiences. As part of the special event, ‘RRR’, ‘Eega’ and the ‘Baahubali’ saga are being shown.

‘Eega’ iconic scene gets huge response from French audience

SS Rajamouli’s team recently shared a video from the screening of ‘Eega’ in Paris. The clip showed the audience clapping loudly after one of the film’s most memorable moments. Fans in the theatre cheered and applauded as the iconic “I will be back” scene played on the big screen. The scene has remained one of the most loved moments in the film, and the French audience celebrated it with loud applause.

About ‘Eega’

Released in 2012, ‘Eega’ is a story where a man who is killed out of jealousy reincarnates as a housefly to take revenge. The famous scene comes during the film’s climax when the tiny fly boldly challenges the villain, played by Sudeep. Throughout the movie, the fly keeps troubling and fighting the villain. In the final moments, the fly writes “I will be back” before the explosive climax. The films stars Nani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kiccha Sudeep in lead roles.

SS Rajamouli receives a special honour in Paris

During his visit to Paris, SS Rajamouli also received a major honour from the Cinémathèque Française, one of the world’s most respected film institutions. Sharing his happiness on X, Rajamouli wrote, “Having me here in Paris and screening my films is itself an honour for me. But a sweet surprise I never saw coming. It is a feeling I cannot fully put into words. To have a permanent place in the halls of one of the world’s most legendary film institutions, named after the great Henri Langlois himself, is something I will carry with me forever.” Rajamouli also thanked everyone who made the honour possible. He wrote, “My deepest gratitude to the legendary Mr. Costa Gavras and the entire Cinémathèque Française family for this honour, and for embracing Indian cinema with such warmth and love.”SS Rajamouli is working next on his upcoming title ‘Varanasi’ with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, global icon Priyanka Chopra and Malayalam’s Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is announced to release on April 7, 2027.
