Directors on Navarrette’s wish list

Beyond the meetings already scheduled, Navarrette identified several accomplished directors she aspires to collaborate with in the future. The list includes the filmmaker behind ‘Sinners’ and the director of the recent pink-themed comedy film, both of whom represent different styles of storytelling and filmmaking approaches that appeal to the actress.

Upcoming project and anthology series considerations

Despite the flurry of meetings and opportunities, Navarrette’s next project is already set. She will appear in ‘Invertigo’, directed by Matthias Hoene, which has completed filming. The project follows “a group of reckless teens who convince a young park worker to sneak them onto a rollercoaster before its official opening. However, a system failure traps them hundreds of feet in the air, forcing them to fight for survival as buried traumas and hidden tensions erupt into chaos.Regarding the possibility of continuing the ‘Obsession’ story, Navarrette expressed nuanced views about the franchise’s future. The original director has indicated to the media that he already has “a really cool idea” for a sequel. However Navarrette suggested an alternative direction for expanding the universe. “I think the beautiful thing about it is that there is no sequel. I think it’d be cool if Curry did the anthology series that he was talking about where each is a different wish” she stated.

While Navarrette previously told industry publications that she “absolutely would” be interested in an ‘Obsession’ sequel she emphasized her love for the concept of the anthology approach. “Love[s] the idea” of the story being left as a single film, she explained, drawing a comparison to how personal memories function. “It’s like a memory, whenever you look back to yourself at like 24, 23, 22 those are all chunks, and they begin and end at a certain point. I think that’s kind of like this story,” she reflected on the narrative structure and its emotional resonance.

Navarrette’s approach to capitalizing on her momentum

The actress has embraced the whirlwind of opportunity surrounding her breakthrough role prioritizing career advancement over personal rest. “I don’t care how much I’m not sleeping because I don’t know if I’ll get this opportunity again. I really want to prove that ‘Obsession’ wasn’t just lightning in a bottle” Navarrette told the publication.Navarrette will next be seen in the survival thriller ‘Invertigo’, directed by Matthias Hoene, while continuing to weigh offers for future projects, including the possibility of joining a major superhero franchise.
