J&K Bank Recruitment 2026: Applications begin for 1,397 posts, check eligibility and selection process

J&K Bank Recruitment 2026: Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. has released four detailed notifications for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Banking Associates for candidates domiciled in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The recruitment drive covers 1,397 vacancies, comprising 343 PO posts and 1,054 Banking Associate posts.The notification was released on November 06, 2026. The online application process begins on November 07, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications and pay the prescribed fee until November 26, 2026. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the online examinations.Vacancy distribution and eligibility criteriaOf the 1,397 vacancies, 1,356 are allocated to Jammu and Kashmir and 41 to Ladakh. The PO recruitment includes 323 vacancies in Jammu and Kashmir and 20 in Ladakh. For Banking Associates, 1,033 posts are available in Jammu and Kashmir and 21 in Ladakh.Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline and be aged between 20 and 30 years. The age limit will be calculated as on January 01, 2026. Candidates must hold the domicile of the respective UT and can apply only for vacancies allocated to their domicile.Age relaxation includes five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for ALC/IB candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates, subject to applicable reservation rules. Former J&K Bank apprentices who have completed their training receive an additional year’s age relaxation and extra marks equivalent to 2.5% of the maximum Banking Associate examination marks.Important dates and application fees

The application fee for General, EWS and other candidates is Rs. 1,200 plus GST for PO posts and Rs. 800 plus GST for Banking Associate posts. SC, ST, SEBC and PwBD candidates must pay Rs. 1,000 plus GST for PO and Rs. 600 plus GST for Banking Associate posts. Ex-servicemen are also covered under the reduced Banking Associate fee.Selection process and salary detailsBanking Associate selection involves a 100-mark online examination lasting 60 minutes, covering English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, followed by document verification.PO selection comprises a qualifying preliminary examination of 100 marks, a mains examination carrying 200 objective and 25 descriptive marks, and an interview. Shortlisting will be conducted at 10 times the vacancies after prelims and three times after mains.The starting basic pay is Rs. 48,480 for POs and Rs. 24,050 for Banking Associates. Selected candidates must serve in their allotted zones for at least five years.
