Mohini Ekadashi 2026: Significance
Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious days in Hindu religion. The day is considered as an extremely auspicious and powerful day which is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu. This day falls on Ekadashi tithi (11th day) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakha. A large number of Lord Vishnu devotees observe rigorous fast starting from Ekadashi tithi and ends on Dwadashi tithi. The fast is observed with devotion and deep faith to seek spiritual growth, abundance, blessings and to get rid of past sins which they might have committed knowingly or unknowingly. This is a peace giving fast because Ekadashi is observed for the mental peace, enlightenment and for the salvation after death. This fast liberates you from the cycle of birth and death and devotees get a sacred place in Lord Vishnu’s abode (Vaikuntha Dham). One should observe this fast in this lifetime because this fast leads your soul towards Moksha.
Mohini Ekadashi 2026: Puja Rituals
1. Devotees get up early and take a bath before starting puja rituals.2. Clean your home and puja room and set up an altar.3. Prepare homemade bhog for Lord Vishnu. 4. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu, Shree Yantra or Lord Krishna, and Laddoo Gopal Ji on a wooden plank.5. Light a diya with desi ghee, offer homemade bhog, and decorate the idols with garlands and flowers.6. While breaking Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi is forbidden, offering Tulsi Patra is seen as auspicious so better you pluck them a day before Ekadashi.7. Chant “Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye” 108 times and recite Shree Hari Stotram, Vishnu Sahasranama, and recite Mohini Ekadashi Vrat Katha.8. One must pray to Lord Vishnu in the evening as well. Afterward, they can eat sattvik food, but it must not contain any grains.9. People should engage in spiritual and religious activities throughout the day.
