Yash (born Naveen Kumar Gowda) was born on January 8, 1986, in Bojjhenahalli village, Hassan district of Karnataka. His father, Arun Kumar, worked as a bus driver, while his mother, Pushpa, was a homemaker. His family also managed a provisions store, which Yash helped run as a child. He was raised in Mysore and was interested in acting and dancing from an early age. He started appearing in school plays and dance competitions to hone his skills.
