The countdown to Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ is getting sharper, as the film now enters the final phase before its theatrical release. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action entertainer is set to hit screens worldwide on October 15 and has already created strong anticipation with its trailer, star-studded cast, and Anirudh Ravichander’s music. The sequel brings back the world of Muthuvel Pandian on a much bigger scale.

‘Jailer 2′ gets UA 16+ certificate with 165-minute runtime

As per the official announcement, ‘Jailer 2’ has completed its censor process and received a UA 16+ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film’s certified runtime is said to be 165 minutes and 18 seconds, keeping it just under three hours. The makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the certification and runtime. The duration also puts the sequel close to the original Jailer, which had a runtime of around 168 minutes. The latest censor update comes just days before the film’s release.

Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ promises a long-format action entertainer

With a runtime of nearly two hours and 46 minutes, ‘Jailer 2’ is set to offer another lengthy commercial entertainer from Nelson. Rajinikanth returns as Muthuvel Pandian, with the sequel expanding the franchise through a larger ensemble and new characters. The film features SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, and other prominent actors. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are also part of the much-awaited sequel, adding to its pan-Indian appeal.

Nelson’s ‘Jailer 2’ heads towards October 15 theatrical release

The recently released ‘Jailer 2’ trailer has already given fans a glimpse of Muthuvel Pandian’s next chapter. The footage hints at a fresh conflict that brings him back into action, while Nelson retains the mix of mass moments, humour and violence associated with the franchise. Sun Pictures is backing the film, with Anirudh handling the music and background score.Now that the censor process and runtime are reportedly locked, all eyes are on the October 15 release, when ‘Jailer 2’ will finally arrive in theatres with Rajinikanth back as the iconic Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
