Comedian and TV star Russell Howard recently revealed that his newborn baby boy, whom he and his partner Cerys had named Felix, passed away shortly after he was born. In a social media post, Howard detailed the tragedy and how it affected them.

Posting a message on his Instagram account, Howard wrote in the caption, “A message from Russell about The Felix Foundation. To find out more, visit the link in bio.” He revealed that earlier this year, he and Cerys welcomed their baby boy, their second child, into the world; however, he passed away soon after his birth.He added in his post, “During the most devastating time of our lives, the hospital staff who cared for us showed extraordinary compassion, kindness, and humanity. They helped us navigate an unimaginable heartache and gave us support when we needed it most,” while commenting that their lives have “forever changed.”He also opened up about how the hospital assigned a bereavement midwife named Lauren to help them through the process. “We could hold him, talk to him, and tell him how much we loved him. Those hours are among the most precious memories we have of Felix,” he added. He also revealed that the two were able to spend some time together with their new baby at the hospital.

Russell Howard started the Felix Foundation in his son’s name

The comedian also revealed in the post that he started the Felix Foundation because of the event, but to provide support to people who may be going through similar tragedies. The post read, “The foundation will aim to relieve the needs of parents, siblings, and other close family members affected by miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, neonatal death, or related bereavement.”In the post, he explained that the organisation is going to provide emotional and practical support to families going through such a time, along with “providing or funding dedicated rooms, facilities, equipment, and resources within hospitals, maternity units, neonatal units, and other appropriate healthcare settings, supporting the care, well-being, and dignity of babies and their families.”He also posted about a fundraising event for his foundation, slated to be held at the O2 arena in February next year. Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr, Aisling Bea, John Bishop, Mo Gilligan, and many others are set to perform during the show, portraying different versions of Russell Howard from when he was a baby.Other than this, Howard has also been on multiple shows, including ‘Russell Howar
