The film remained steady during its opening weekend, despite registering a decline in its India net collection on Sunday.According to Sacnilk, ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ earned Rs 20.55 Cr on Day 3 in India. The figure is 7.6% lower than the Rs 22.25 Cr collected on Saturday. The film recorded the Sunday collection from 4,876 shows.The Suriya and Mamitha Baiju film has now collected Rs 58.15 Cr in India net so far. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 67.22 Cr. Suriya’s film shows weekend strength

‘Vishwanath and Sons’ opened with Rs 15.35 Cr on Friday. The film then recorded a substantial increase on Saturday, when its India net collection rose to Rs 22.25 Cr. Sunday’s Rs 20.55 Cr collection kept the film above the Rs 20 Cr mark for the second consecutive day.On Day 3, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 9.50 Cr to the film’s India gross. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also generated Rs 9.50 Cr. Karnataka added Rs 2.90 Cr, while Kerala contributed Rs 1.50 Cr. The remaining Indian markets accounted for Rs 35 lakhs.

The Tamil version registered 57.58% overall occupancy.The Tamil shows recorded 38.15% occupancy in the morning. Afternoon shows improved to 65.77%, while evening shows registered 64.69%. Night shows recorded 56.31% occupancy.The Telugu version performed even better. It registered 72.86% overall occupancy on Day 3. Morning shows recorded 56.67% occupancy, while afternoon shows reached 79.58%. Evening and night shows registered 67.75% and 66.92%, respectively.

‘Jana Nayagan’ crosses Rs 320 Cr worldwide

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay starrer ‘Jana Nayagan’ has continued its theatrical run. The film has collected Rs 321.75 Cr worldwide in 25 days.The film’s India gross currently stands at Rs 228.55 Cr. Its overseas gross has reached Rs 93.20 Cr, while the India net collection stands at Rs 196.97 Cr.‘Jana Nayagan’ had a stronger opening three-day run compared with ‘Vishwanath and Sons’. The Thalapathy Vijay film collected Rs 38.2 Cr on Day 1. It followed this with Rs 17.95 Cr on Day 2 and Rs 24.8 Cr on Day 3.
