Aamir Khan, 61, is reportedly all set to tie the knot with Gauri Spratt, 47, in a private registered marriage, a decision that marks a notable shift from his own words just a year ago, when he said getting married at 60 simply would not suit him.

What had Aamir Khan said about marriage?

According to the India Today report, when Aamir Khan first introduced Gauri Spratt to the media in 2025, he was candid about where he stood. He had said, “See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Now getting married at 60 wouldn’t suit me). But let’s see.”Well, it seems that the “let’s see” has found its answer. According to the report, the actor confirmed that the couple had only recently decided to make their relationship official. The report stated, “They are both in a secure place and only wanted to celebrate their bond. They have already started preparations for the wedding, which will be an intimate event attended by family and close friends.”

Aamir Khan gets candid about Gauri Spratt

In an interview with Navbharat Times, Aamir Khan has spoken openly about what Gauri means to him. He said, “I am very fortunate that I met Gauri and our relationship started together. She is great; I feel at peace with her.”He also reflected on his past marriages without bitterness, adding, “Although my relationships with ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta were also very deep, things didn’t work out. When you asked, I felt that I was very blessed that Gauri entered my life. We are very happy together. Mujhe lagta hai ab jaake mai mukammal hua hu (I feel that only now have I become complete).”

Reportedly, the wedding is expected to be a small, family-first affair with no grand Bollywood spectacle. However, industry buzz suggests that close friends and fellow superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan could attend, subject to their availability. Aamir Khan was first married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children – son Junaid and daughter Ira.
